The display resolution of your monitor (1080p, 1440p, or 4K) will have a direct effect on how many frames per second (FPS) the PC can generate when playing games. The resolution essentially impacts the PC’s ability to deliver a smooth and enjoyable experience. Higher resolutions yield better looking graphics, but are more demanding on the PC’s computing power and require greater level of specifications. Consult the table below to gain an understanding of how this PC will perform at each resolution when gaming.

1080p – Pro Gamer. You’ll get to enjoy any game at high to max settings and have great fun. Relevant for today’s games and games of the future.

1440p – Entry. The performance will depend on the game you play. Many games of yesteryear will be enjoyed at high settings, but soon-to-be released games may need to be played at medium settings. If you want to play games at max settings at 1440p, consider these options.

4K – Not recommended. This PC is not powerful enough to play modern games at 4K. We recommend choosing a more powerful PC if you wish to play at 4K. Consider these options.

VR gaming is considerably more demanding on the PC than regular gaming on a monitor. This is because VR games are rendered in resolutions greater than 1080p to create the absorbing realism that is experienced by the user. Furthermore, VR games are also rendered in 3D which is inherently resource intensive.

Video/photo/music editing and content creation –

Generally speaking, editing is not as demanding on PC hardware as gaming is. This PC will easily handle any photo or music editing task as well as up to 4K video editing with streamlined and smooth performance. However if you are into professional editing with intensive multitasking involved, a more powerful PC is recommended.

If you require the PC for more advanced content creation such as video rendering or computer aided design work, then once again consider getting a more powerful machine that will deliver better performance, particularly one with at least 32GB RAM and an 8 core processor.
